Medical treatment guidelines are paramount in determining your medical treatment options. All important guidelines are listed by the National Guidelines Clearinghouse (NGC), which requires that guidelines be updated every 5 years. The The Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) has not revised its Lyme disease guidelines for over 5 years. Regardless, the NGC recently allowed them to continue listing the guidelines – without updating them – based on the IDSA’s claim that the antitrust review process fulfilled NGC review requirements.
