Danielle’s Lyme Story
In 2005, as spring came forth, I quietly fell ill with a host of bizarre, frightening and ultimately debilitating symptoms, many of them neurological. The answer to what had caused my seemingly abrupt illness would not be forthcoming – as I would come to learn, mine was not an uncommon story in Lyme Land – and the journey to try and regain my health certainly was not straight forward. It was a terrifying and yet edifying trip down the rabbit hole where I would come to see 25 + doctors before being properly diagnosed with Lyme disease in 2009. I have learned much, and although I am in treatment for chronic Lyme disease, I am eager to share with you whatever I can that may assist you or someone you know.
